I will be 28 weeks pregnant in Ramadan insh Allah. This is my second pregnancy. In my first I was allowed not to fast because I was suffering from diabetes. In this pregnancy I am not however I am experiencing severe fatigue and occasional fainting when tired or not eaten. I have thyroid problems and asthma.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am asking if according to your fatwa, a pregnant is allowed not to fast? And what if she was medically unwell with pregnancy related problems, such as my case?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A woman who is pregnant or is breastfeeding doesn\u2019t have to keep fast if this will be difficult for her or causing problem for the child. However she will have to male qadha afterwards and there will be no fidyah.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If she keep fast and then during the day, she broke her fast, there will be no kaffarah upon her in that state. A woman will have to consult her doctor properly before doing anything.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is concession on this matter in shariah, a woman is encourage to adopt it and not to exert herself.<\/span><\/p>\n
