I had a very good relationship to them and we want to meet. Is this right that my ex father in law can see me uncovered and that I can talk to him?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><u><strong>In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><u><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">In principle, the father in law is a mahram for his daughter in law since he is perpetually haraam to marry her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">A mahram is he with who marriage is permanently prohibited.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">A woman does not have to observe hijab in front of her father in law. However, a daughter in law should dress in a modest way in front of her father in law especially in these times when immorality is common. Precaution should be taken and avoid being in seclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">As for the question above, the father in law remain as a mahram even after divorce therefore it will be permissible to visit your ex in laws. Keep in mind shariah emphasises shame and modesty.
