 <\/p>\n

The reason why speaking after ‘Isha is disliked is because it often leads to people staying up late at night, which may hinder them from performing qiyaam al-layl (night prayer), engaging in dhikr (remembrance of Allah), or even praying Fajr within its preferred time. Additionally, staying up late at night can result in laziness during the day, affecting one’s commitment to religious obligations, acts of worship, and worldly responsibilities. Scholars have specified that the type of speech that is disliked after ‘Isha is that which serves no beneficial purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, speech that serves a beneficial interest, such as studying, recounting stories of the righteous, conversing with guests or brides to alleviate their discomfort, showing kindness to family members, or engaging in discussions for a valid reason, is not disliked.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The prohibition on speaking after ‘Isha refers specifically to speaking after the prayer, not after the onset of the ‘Isha time. Additionally, it is recommended to delay the Isha prayer a little during the winter time so ruling would remain the same regardless of season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scholars unanimously agree that speaking after the prayer is disliked, except for speech that contains goodness, as outlined previously. Various authentic narrations support these guidelines, and similar principles apply to other instances of post-prayer speech.<\/span><\/p>\n
