Is it permissible to have this strapped around my chest whilst in the state of ihram for safe-keeping of valuable items?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Among the prohibitions of Ihram is the wearing of clothing that is figure-hugging and fastened on the limbs. This can happen in two methods:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1. Ishtim\u0101l \u2013 This refers to tying and fastening clothing to the body in a way that results in the clothing taking the shape and form of the limbs, similar to ordinary clothing.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2. Istims\u0101k \u2013 This involves clothing having accessories such as stitching, press studs, Velcro, or elastic, which cause the clothing to take the shape of the limbs and resemble everyday attire.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Despite these prohibitions, wearing a pouch in Ihram is permissible. This is because a pouch does not fit tightly around the body nor does it take the shape of the limbs like regular clothing. Instead, it is an accessory that can be used to carry essential items such as money, identification, or medications. The pouch does not fall under the prohibitions of Ishtim\u0101l or Istims\u0101k as long as it does not resemble fitted clothing or have tight elastic bands that cling to the body.<\/span><\/p>\n
