Salaam, I wanted to ask as this is something I find really difficult to know after performing wudu. So I performed wudhu for fajr this morning and I think after I prayed I was touching the inner corner of my eye and found some eye crust and then the same thing happened when I performed wudhu for zuhr and asr. The thing is Im pretty sure I washed my face properly and tried to take everything off it beforehand so its clean for wudhu and its not big solid. So does this affect the validity of the wudhu and cause a barrier for the water to pass through the inner corner of my eye?<\/span><\/p>\n

I did do some research and Sheikh Assim al Hakeem said that if its not done on purpose then its fine and this is something that can sometimes be unavoidable so i just wanted to double check by asking as im not sure; as there are a lot of differences of opinions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Washing the face for wudhu includes all parts of the face including the eyes but does not require exaggeration. 2<\/sup> Normally eye crust\/mucus (medically known as rheum) which form in the corners of your eyes are permeable and allow water through. Thus, washing the face with wet hands would be sufficient for wudhu as eye crust\/mucus does not constitute as impurity and would not prevent water from entering. The formation is usually very tiny in size and would also allow water to flow around it and so can be overlooked. Your wudhu would have been valid.3<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n

It can very easily be missed due to its size and sticky nature. Since you noticed it after salah then it\u2019s possible that it may have formed even after salah. The positive taking is that since you are now aware of this happening, it is preventable, and the likelihood is reduced. 4<\/sup> 5<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n
