Question:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Salaam, so I was praying my qada asr salah and I felt air bubbles come out from the back passage. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This does happen outside of Salah too but when it came out it didn’t come out with any sound or smell, I just felt it but I\u2019m not sure if it came all the way out. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I ignored this and carried on with my prayer, was this the right thing to do or should I have made wudu again? <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Do I need to repeat my salah\u2019s as I’m sure it didn\u2019t come all the way out but I just felt a bubble.<\/span>

Air bubbles exiting the body can be a constant worry for some people, especially with regards to wudhu. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When faced with this type of challenge, the first step would be to determine if you are certain that the air bubble has passed through the back passage or not. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If you are uncertain and in doubt about whether the air bubble passed, then your wudhu is considered to be intact. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This is based on a principle of Islamic jurisprudence:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Certainty is not lifted by a doubt<\/span><\/i>.\u201d (Al Ashbah Wan Nadhair p.60) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As such, the doubt you have about whether you have lost your wudhu or not is not enough to remove the certainty that you have wudhu, certainty of wudhu will therefore not be lifted by a mere doubt. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, if you are certain that there was an exit of a bubble of wind, even if there was no sound or smell then wudhu would need to be repeated. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
