I am going for Umrah next week but suffer an issue where I constantly discharge, I\u2019m not sure what it is but I always see white lines in my underwear from discharge. It\u2019s not pre-seminal fluid or semen. I am still waiting for the doctor to give me an answer. How do I perform umrah if discharge may exit during tawaaf or saee? If it also goes on my Ihram what shall I do? How do I clean it, will it not take up my whole day? If discharge exits and I notice after doing everything, do I need to do it all again? because all the time I never get a feeling for the discharge, I just see it when I check.<\/span><\/p>\n

From what you have described, if your issue of discharge persists for the duration of one whole salah time without finding a sufficient pause to perform salah or any form of worship free from it, then you take on the status of a Ma\u2019dhur (an excused person). <\/span> Once classified as a Ma\u2019dhur, you may observe the rules of a Ma\u2019dhur. However, the condition is that the discharge occurs once during each salah time even if not throughout the entire duration. This status of Ma\u2019dhur will continue if there is discharge in each respective salah time. Note that when there is no discharge during an entire salah time then you will lose this status. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Whilst you have the status of a Ma\u2019dhur, you are required to perform Wudhu for each salah time and may perform your fard, sunan and nawafil throughout this period with this Wudhu, and may also perform worship related to your Umrah such as Tawaf and salah for example. You are then required to renew your Wudhu for the next salah time and to continue your Umrah rituals. To perform Saee on the other hand, does not require wudhu and so you\u2019d have flexibility with performing this ritual. Finally, note that when the time of the prayer ends, your Wudhu will be annulled.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To prevent soiling your ihram, you can take some precautionary measures as a Ma\u2019dhur by renewing your Wudhu and washing away any discharge from your body or clothing of ihram after each salah time expires. <\/span> Note, there is an amount which is disregarded, and will not invalidate your worship. The Hanafi ruling allows disregarding an area of the size of a dirham (50 pence coin) affected by impurity. If the discharge fits this size description, it will not invalidate your Umrah or Tawaf. Ideally, you should try to clean it immediately but if this is not feasible then your worship remains valid. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If, however, you experience excessive discharge which exceeds the excused amount, then you may consider using disposable adult incontinence pants to maintain cleanliness during each salah time as a Ma\u2019dhur. <\/span> You can change the disposable pants each time you renew your wudhu to ensure you are free of any impurity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
