{"id":3329,"date":"2011-09-03T13:49:40","date_gmt":"2011-09-03T13:49:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/wp\/?p=3329"},"modified":"2011-09-03T13:49:40","modified_gmt":"2011-09-03T13:49:40","slug":"television","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/home\/television\/","title":{"rendered":"Television"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Is watching television impermissible and unlawful in general or is it only considered unlawful when one watches a particular programme or documentary that goes against Islamic teachings?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Television falls in the category of play and amusement and furthermore there is the issue of the gaze upon images contrary to the teachings of Islam.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Allah states in the Quran:<em> \u201cSay to the believers that they should lower their gaze and protect their private parts.
