\n<\/span>Mufti sahib. During jummuah salah yesterday, the imam read (whilst reading surah ghaashiyah),<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u0641\u0630\u0643\u0631<\/span> \u0645\u0627<\/span> \u0623\u0646\u062a<\/span> \u0645\u0630\u0643\u0631\u00a0 \u00a0i<\/span>nstead of,<\/span>

\n<\/span>and the salah was repeated thereafter. Was there a need to repeat this salah, or was the salah considered valid?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

If as you have mentioned, when reciting Surah Al-Ghashiyah, the Imam read \u0641\u0630\u0643\u0631 \u0645\u0627 \u0623\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0630\u0643\u0631 instead of \u0641\u0630\u0643\u0631 \u0625\u0646\u0645\u0627 \u0623\u0646\u062a \u0645\u0630\u0643\u0631 then in this situation, the meaning has been completely changed. The verse originally translates as \u2018<\/span>So, <\/span><\/i>\u02f9<\/span><\/i>continue to<\/span><\/i>\u02fa<\/span><\/i> remind <\/span><\/i>\u02f9<\/span><\/i>all, O Prophet<\/span><\/i>\u02fa<\/span><\/i>, for your duty is only to remind<\/span><\/i>\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Imams mistake, the word \u0625\u0646 has been dropped from \u0625\u0646\u0645\u0627 and left \u0645\u0627, where \u2018innama\u2019 means \u2018only\u2019 with an emphasis and \u2018ma\u2019 alone means \u2018not\u2019 i.e. negation. So, the meaning changed to \u2018So, <\/span>\u02f9<\/span>continue to<\/span>\u02fa<\/span> remind <\/span>\u02f9<\/span>all, O Prophet<\/span>\u02fa<\/span>, for your duty is <\/span>only<\/span> not<\/b> to remind\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thus, repeating the salah was appropriate in this situation due to the \u2018<\/span>taghayyur<\/span><\/i>\u2019 being severe and changing the meaning of the words of Allah \ufdfb. The salah would have been deemed invalid due to this mistake and therefore needed to be repeated. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
