I understand that one should ideally not change words of Quran and say them as they are, but if one feels that a particular parent, on the account of being highly abusive, does not deserve that one prays this dua for him or her in every prayer, can this justify this modification?\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I personally feel that since one is not changing the words of the Quran during recitation (as in Qiyam) but in an optional dua, it should not be a problem, but I still felt asking an expert was important.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><b>In the name of Allah, the<\/b><b>\u00a0Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><b>Answer:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is permissible to adopt the words of the Qur\u2019an for your personal duas, if it does not distort the meaning or context of the verse.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This is because when used in dua, the intention is not recitation of the Qur\u2019an but rather supplication to Allah.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">For example, the verse:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><b>\u0631\u064e\u0628\u0651\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0622\u062a\u0650\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0641\u0650\u064a \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0651\u064f\u0646\u0652\u064a\u064e\u0627 \u062d\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0629\u064b \u0648\u064e\u0641\u0650\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0622\u062e\u0650\u0631\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u062d\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0629\u064b \u0648\u064e\u0642\u0650\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0639\u064e\u0630\u064e\u0627\u0628\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0631\u0650<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:201).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">You can say:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><b>\u0631\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0651 \u0622\u062a\u0650\u0646\u0650\u064a \u0641\u0650\u064a \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0651\u064f\u0646\u0652\u064a\u064e\u0627 \u062d\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0629\u064b \u0648\u064e\u0641\u0650\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0622\u062e\u0650\u0631\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u062d\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0629\u064b \u0648\u064e\u0642\u0650\u0646\u0650\u064a \u0639\u064e\u0630\u064e\u0627\u0628\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0631\u0650<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My Lord, grant me good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save me from the punishment of the Fire.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">So if your intention is for dua, you can use the words of Quran as long as it does not distort the meaning of the Quran.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Lastly, you should never leave your parents out of your duas, instead you should make dua for him\/her to be guided even if they are too harsh or not on the right path.
