I have a friend whose sister was killed and the body was cremated. They are of Turkish decent and the brother is looking for an imam to perform some ritual. \u00a0What can be done at this moment?<\/span><\/p>\n

Answer :<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The cremation is not permissible in Islamic shariah (1). Burial is the approved method of disposing of the dead. The burial process includes bathing, shrouding, a funeral prayer, and preparing the body for burial with the head facing the holy Ka\u2019aba(2). However, if it has already occurred, the family can still perform prayers and make dua for the deceased.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some steps that can be taken:Salat al- Janazah: If the body is not present, a “Salat al-Janazah ala al-gha’ib” ( \u0644\u0627 \u064a\u064f\u0635\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0649 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0645\u064a\u0651\u0650\u062a\u064d \u063a\u0627\u0626\u0628 \u0639\u0646\u062f\u0646\u0627\u060c \u0648\u0639\u0646\u062f \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0627\u0641\u0639\u064a\u0651\u0650: \u064a\u064f\u0635\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0649 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u063a\u0627\u0626\u0628\u0650)\u00a0 (3)\u00a0 can be performed. This is a valid prayer for someone who has passed away but whose body is unavailable for burial.\u00a0<\/span>The family should continue making dua\u00a0 for her, asking Allah for forgiveness, mercy, and acceptance into Jannah.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
