Hence, a person will be considered a F\u0101siq (open sinner) for not carrying out actions of this nature without a valid excuse, and they will be considered a disbeliever for denying or rejecting that it is an obligatory act.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">An example of a Fardh act: The number of units in the prayer \u2014 there is no possibility of the number of units in the Fardh prayer being increased or decreased because of the nature of evidence through which they have been established.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">If a person denies or disagrees with the number of units of the Fardh prayer, then they will be deemed a non-believer, and if they don\u2019t carry out the Fardh prayer, then they will be deemed a F\u0101siq for forsaking it without a valid excuse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Har\u0101m (Impermissible):<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">It is that ruling that has been established by a non-speculative, clear evidence within which there is no doubt. One who denies it being Har\u0101m will be considered a disbeliever, and the person who carries it out without any valid excuse will be considered a F\u0101siq.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">An example of this is: adultery and stealing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Fardh Kifayah (communal obligation):<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">It is the exact same in terms of the general Fardh act, which is known as Fardh Al-\u2018Ain. The difference is that if one person or a small group of the community fulfils this obligation, then this obligation is uplifted from the rest of the community of that vicinity. [1]<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">An example of this is: the funeral prayer. [2]<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">W\u0101jib (obligatory):<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">It is that which is established by speculative evidence, which means that it is not entirely clear in its meaning, but rather it can hold more than one interpretation or it has not been transmitted in the same manner as a Fardh issue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">It is the same as Fardh in the sense that a person is obligated to do it, and if they leave it out, then they will be sinful and even a F\u0101siq (open sinner) if they forsake it out of belittlement or without any valid excuse. But the difference is that if one doesn\u2019t believe in it, they will not be considered a disbeliever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">An example of this is: the Witr prayer according to the relied-upon view in the Hanafi Madhab.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Makruh Tahrimi (Major dislike):<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">It is that which is established by speculative evidence, meaning it is not entirely clear in its meaning, and it can hold more than one interpretation or it has not been transmitted in the same manner as a Haram issue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">It is similar to the Haram act in the sense that a person is obligated to avoid it. If they commit this act, then they will be sinful and even a F\u0101siq (open sinner) if they commit it out of belittlement or without any valid excuse. But the difference is that if one doesn\u2019t believe in it being Makruh Tahrimi, they will not be considered a disbeliever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">An example of this would be: the impermissibility of the consumption of the wild donkey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Makruh Tanzihi:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">It is that which was either initially impermissible, but due to it being very widespread and unavoidable, it has been classed as Makruh Tanzihi, like the saliva of a cat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Or it is that which was initially permitted, but due to a reason it is considered as Makruh Tanzihi. A reason could be that its impermissibility is not certain, like in the case of the remnants of a predatory bird.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Ruling: A person will be given a lesser reward for avoiding it, and they will not be punished for committing this act.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Sunnah:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Sunnah actions are categorized into two types:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Sunnah Mu\u2019akkadah (Sunan Al-Huda):<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">These are those Sunnah actions which are considered as being more emphasized than others. These are actions which the Noble Prophet \ufdfa did regularly and seldom missed.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Ruling: A person may be entitled to reproach for constantly forsaking these acts without any valid reason.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Examples: The congregational prayer and the call to prayer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Sunnah Ghair Muakkadah (Sunan Az-Zawaaid):<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">These are actions which are not as emphasized but are still important to do, as the Prophet \ufdfa is reported to have done them, even if only once.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Example: The way that the Prophet \ufdfa walked or the way he sat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Ruling: If a person does not do these, he will not be entitled to reproach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Nafl \/ Mandoob (supererogatory):<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">For these discussions, please check the Hanafi books on Usul Al-Fiqh (principles of legal jurisprudence).
