Salam. I have heard that the majority of scholars said that it is makruh (discouraged) for unmarried women to apply henna. My question is: according to them, is applying olive oil also makruh since it prevents and removes premature wrinkles and helps the skin in many more ways, making it more beautiful? How about applying natural remedies and oils for scalp hair growth or healthy hair growth, or for hair loss, or just to keep hair healthy? How about applying ithmid (antimony) for eyelashes to grow? How about applying aloe vera to get rid of sun tan on the skin and for clean skin? Or how about face cleanser scrubs for clean skin? Do these things also fall in the same category to be makruh for unmarried women? Please note, I am asking if, according to those scholars who say it is makruh to apply henna for unmarried women. Also, I am not trying to adore myself; I just want to fix my natural beauty, like sun tan and hair fall and more, and I want to get married. I am talking about original beauty, not altering anything. Please reply, I am worried for many days and confused<\/span><\/p>\n

Applying henna itself isn’t Makruh even for unmarried girls. The reason some scholars say that it’s better not to wear henna is because it could lead to girls drawing unwanted attention, especially if they don’t cover their hands in public. However, even this depends on the context of where someone is living. In most places in the West, if a girl is covering everything except her hands, and she is wearing henna, it won\u2019t draw extra attention. In such a case, there would be nothing wrong in doing so.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The same principle applies to everything else you mentioned. Doing these natural treatments will not lead to attracting attention. In fact, they are a good way of grooming yourself and taking care of yourself, and this is something recommended by the Prophet (saw).<\/span><\/p>\n
