If someone gifts something to a child, is the mother\u2019s possession sufficient or does the father have to do possession?<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Gifting is giving something with no exchange, making the next person the owner of it. The condition for the gifting to be accepted is, the one receiving the gift should accept it.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the case where someone is giving a gift specifically to the child, then the guardian of the child will take possession of the gift in behalf of the child.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The guardian of the child can be the father, grandfather or even the mother. By them taking the item, the gifting will be complete.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Therefore it will be sufficient for the mother to take possession of the gift in behalf of the child. It will not be necessary only for the father to take it.<\/span><\/p>\n
