However, after deep reflection, he realised that he might have previously given a verbal talaq.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Would this be considered revocable or irrevocable? Would the marriage still be valid?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">This Talaq would be irrevocable, and their marriage is now void. The husband\u2019s forgetfulness at the time of giving the third Talaq is irrelevant [1]. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">If three Talaqs have been issued, then Talaq Mughalladah has occurred, and thus she is Haraam for him. This means he cannot remarry her until she marries someone besides him, consummates the marriage with them, then chooses to divorce them and agrees to remarry him [2].<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">It is precisely for this reason, casually handing out Talaqs as a threat while intending to take them back again, that the maximum of three Talaqs has been stipulated.
