Any write ups on sublingual medication and fasting? Does any of the medicine get dissolved into saliva and swallowed?<\/span><\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Answer:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sublingual medication\u00a0generally dissolves under the tongue and is absorbed directly into the bloodstream, without passing through the digestive system but there are chances that it may go in to the stomach with saliva.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If the medication is swallowed or ingested in any way even if sublingual initially but eventually swallowed and reached the stomach,\u00a0the fast is considered\u00a0broken[i]<\/a> and Qada will be done for it.[ii]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

If a person\u2019s mouth fills with blood and they swallow it deliberately, their fast is broken and they must make up for it.<\/span><\/p>\n
