If a person has not given the\u00a0Mahr\u00a0for many years and wishes to give it now should the\u00a0Mahr\u00a0be paid according to its value at the time of the marriage, or should it be based on its current value? This is an important issue because changes in the market rate could have impacted the value of the Mahr over time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">In Hanafi Fiqh, the\u00a0Mahr\u00a0is a obligation that is agreed upon at the time of marriage.
