Some suspicions are sins. And do not be curious, and do not backbite one another. Do one of you like that he eats the flesh of his dead brother? You would abhor it.&rdquo; (Surah Al Hujurat v.12)<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">The second social evil which has been mentioned in the aforementioned verse is with regards to Tajasus, spying or prying secretly into the fault of others. An alternative reading of &#39;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">tajasus&#39;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"> is &#39;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">tahasus&#39;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">The two words in Arabic are near-synonyms. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Akhfash<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"> says there is a subtle difference in their meanings. Tajasus connotes looking into people&rsquo;s affairs which they have kept hidden, whilst <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">tahasus<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"> connotes searching in general.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">Bayanul<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"> Qur&rsquo;an interprets that <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">tajasus<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"> and <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\">tahasus<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"> include the sense of listening to people without their permission when they are talking or eavesdropping at their doors.
