Controlling Anger<\/p>\n

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Answer <\/strong><\/h1>\n

Saaiduna Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that a man came to the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam and said, \u201cAdvise me!\u201d The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said, \u201cDo not become angry.\u201d\u00a0 The man asked (the same) again and again and the Prophet said in each case, \u201cDo not become angry.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Sahih Bukhari)<\/p>\n

  1. Think of your shortcomings.\u00a0 There is an aspect of egoism in anger whereby the angry person thinks to be superior and the other inferior.<\/li>\n
  2. Keep away form the object of anger.\u00a0 This treatment is known to have been employed by the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam.\u00a0 Wahshi had killed Saaiduna Hamzah Radiallahu Anhu, the uncle of the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam in the Battle of Uhud.\u00a0 Later Saaiduna Wahshi embraced Islam.\u00a0 The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said to him \u201cDo not come before my eyes because that reminds me of Saaiduna Hamzah Radiallahu Anhu and that might anger me.\u201d<\/li>\n
  3. Remind yourself of Divine Punishment.\u00a0 Once Saaiduna Abu Bakr Radiallahu Anhu was scolding his slave when he saw that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam who said \u201cAllah has more power over you than you have over him.\u201d\u00a0 If one remembers Allah\u2019s punishment then there is some softening of ones anger and the rage is pacified.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Spiritual Discources \u2013 Mufti Taqi Usmani p.40 \u2013p.41 v.3)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
