{"id":640,"date":"2011-08-20T21:42:26","date_gmt":"2011-08-20T21:42:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/wp\/?p=640"},"modified":"2011-08-20T21:42:26","modified_gmt":"2011-08-20T21:42:26","slug":"showing-kindness-to-mother","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daruliftabirmingham.co.uk\/home\/showing-kindness-to-mother\/","title":{"rendered":"Showing kindness to mother"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Showing kindness to mother<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong> In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1><strong>Answer<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Saaiduna Bahz bin Hakim, on his father\u2019s authority reported his grandfather as saying: \u201cO Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam, to whom should I show kindness?\u201d He said \u201cYour mother!\u201d\u00a0 He asked again, \u201cWho should I show kindness?\u201d He said \u201cYour mother!\u201d\u00a0 He asked the third time, \u201cTo whom shall I be kind?\u201d And he said, \u201cYour mother!\u201d\u00a0 Then he asked once again \u201cTo whom should I show kindness?\u201d\u00a0 He said \u201cYour father, and then your close relatives and then the next close relatives.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Sahih Bukhari p.883 v.2)<\/p>\n<p>This hadith tells us that the person most deserving to be shown kindness is a mother.\u00a0 She endures the period of pregnancy and trials of birth and she nourished the infant.\u00a0 She is also deserving because she is weak and she cannot earn her livelihood by her own effort. (Fathul Bari)<\/p>\n<p>It is stated in \u2018Fazaail Sadaqat\u2019 of Hazrat Maulana Zakariyah (RA) that some of the Ulama have concluded from this hadith that a mother enjoys three portions of right while a father has one portion of right to be treated kindly.\u00a0 This is why the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam spoke of the right of the mother three times before he spoke of a father\u2019s right.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, if ones father or mother is mentally ill, he or she is still liable to be shown the same level of kindness and respect if they were not mentally ill.<\/p>\n<p>Only Allah Knows Best<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed Tosir Miah<\/p>\n<p>Darul Ifta Birmingham<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Showing kindness to mother In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.
