\n\tI have a question about Qurbani in islam.. that when it is compulsory on individual or what are the conditions for qurbani in islam.i live in pakistan u know the state of economy here.. we have a medical store and my father give my brother a salery of 4000 <\/span>rs.is<\/span><\/a> qurbani obligatory on him… please give ans in the light of quran and hadith<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAny person who has in his ownership wealth equivalent to 612.36g of silver or 87.48g of gold on the Day of Eid is compelled to give Sadaqatul Fitr for Eidul Fitr or sacrifice an animal for Eidul Adha.   (Raddul Muhtar p.171 v.3)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBig animals like cows, bulls and camels have seven shares.  The qurbani of seven people can be made by slaughtering one of these animals whether it is for seven people of one household or from different households.  The only condition is that the intention in each share should be for qurbani or aqeeqah.  If these animals are divided into less than seven shares i.e. six shares, five shares etc. then this will be permissible.  However, if the animal is divided into eight or more shares to be divided to eight different people then no ones qurbani will be accepted.   (Fatawa Hindiyyah p.207 v.5)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tFor small animals such as sheep and goats, there is only one share.  Qurbani of only one person can be made from these animals.   (Kifayatul Mufti p.189 v.8)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe owner of the animal has the choice of either keeping all the meat or giving it all away to his family, friends or the poor.  It is preferable to divide the meat into three parts: one for personal use, one for family and friends and one part to be distributed to the poor.   (Hidayah p.436 v.4)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWith regards to your question, you need to find out what the nisab of zakat (612.36g of silver) is for qurbani to be wajib. In the UK the nisab is approximately £350. Therefore, if someone, even though she is a wife who has been given money by the husband, after the basic necessities and needs possess the aforementioned amount, qurbani will be obligatory.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
