\n\tQuestion:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen the Imam says Sami'allahuliman Hamidah, do we as muqtadi also say it? Or do we only say Rabbana Lakal Hamd?
\n\t> Does the imaam say both?
\n\t> When exactly do we say Rabbana Lakal Hamd? Is it during the motion of getting up, or only after standing up straight (i.e. in the posture of perfect qiyam) ?<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAnswer:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\"Bismillah\"<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIt is a consensus amongst the scholars that a munfarid (person reading by himself) should say the tasmee and tahmeed (Rabbana Lakal Hamd).  Furthermore, it is also a consensus that the Muqtadi (follower) would only say the tahmid.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWith regards to what the Imam should say there is a difference of opinion.  Imam Shafi \"ra\u1e25imahull\u0101h is of the view that it is preferable for the Imam to combine both whereas Imam Abu Hanifa \"ra\u1e25imahull\u0101h is of the view that the Imam should suffice on tasmee.   (Dars Tirmizi p.49 v.2)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tImam Abu Yusuf \"ra\u1e25imahull\u0101h and Imam Muhammad \"ra\u1e25imahull\u0101h are of the view that the Imam should combine both.  Some have said that this is also a narration of Imam Abu Hanifah \"ra\u1e25imahull\u0101h. Other Hanafi scholars such as Imam Tahawi \"ra\u1e25imahull\u0101h and Imam Shurunbulali \"ra\u1e25imahull\u0101h have said the same thing.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, the majority of the ‘mutuuns’<\/span>[1]<\/span><\/a> state that the Imam should only read the tasmee.   (Raddul Muhtar p.201 v.2)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tFinally, the tasmee should be said whilst getting up from the ruku. (Raddul Muhtar p.200 v.2)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
