\n\tQuestion:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tI wanted to confirm if it’s true that the one who abuses another with obscenities or derogatory comments incurs the wrath of Allah upon them? This is something my mother told me. I’m aware of the Hadith pertaining to backbiting and slandering but is there any explicit verse in the Quran or Hadith that unequivocally states the above?<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAnswer:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBismillah<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tFor a Muslim to call another person with names such as Faasiq(transgressor), Kafir(disbeliever), Saariq(thief) Munafiq(hypocrite) etc… is not permissible.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis is a form of swearing and the one who swears at a Muslim is a transgressor himself. (Ashraful-Hidayah pg:723 vol:6\/1).<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAllah \"sub\u1e25\u0101nahu mentioned in the Holy Quran; “Nor call one another with bad nicknames.” (Surah: Hujaraat Ayah:11)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Prophet \"\u1e63allall\u0101hu has said; “to swear at a Muslim is Fisq(immoral). (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Tirmizi, Sunan Nasaai).<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Prophet \"\u1e63allall\u0101hu said; “the inmates of Hell are of five types…”and among them he mentioned” …the miser, the liar and those who are in the habit of abusing people and using obscene and foul language.” (Sahih Muslim).<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n
