Question:
Can a person give zakat from his alcohol-earning haram money or interest money?
If he does give zakat from these earnings is his duty going to be fulfilled? Or does he has to fulfil the zakat conditions that it has to be from halal earning
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
There is no zakat on haram earnings even if it reaches the stipulated amount of zakat. All the haram-earned money must go to donations without even the intention of reward.
If one gives zakat from haram money for what was due on the halal money, then that zakat is not valid and must be given from solely halal money.
Only Allah knows best.
