Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

My question is that can nikah be performed when the bride is having her menses?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of ALLAH the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

It is haraam for her husband to have intercourse with her, and it is haraam for her to allow him to do so, because Allaah says: “They ask you concerning menstruation. Say: that is an Adha (a harmful thing), therefore, keep away from women during menses and go not unto them till they are purified (from menses and have taken a bath)” [Sura Baqarah :222]

A woman can get married during her menstrual cycle however intercourse will not be permissible.
