Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

An unmarried girl imagines to do intercourse with her future husband is she sinful? (she is not engaged yet. She doesn't imagine any face of a man and doesn't imagine any private part of a man She just thinks she will wear western dress and present herself to her husband. And she imagines her husband will play with her private parts) She does not touch her private parts during imagination. she just fell down the bed and imagine she is with her future husband. Is it counted as Masturbation? she does this practice once a day. She reached her climax point during the imagination. Is she doing Haraam practice?

Answer:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Firstly it is essential to understand that it is not necessary to use the hands when it comes to masturbation, rather any form of stimulation of the private parts (other than sexual intercourse with one’s spouse) will be considered to be masturbation.[1]

Therefore fantasising about sexual intercourse or any other sexual activity to the point of climax will be considered as masturbation and therefore this practice will be considered haram.[2]

Secondly, it is narrated by Abu Hurairah: The Prophet () said, "Allah forgives my followers those (evil deeds) their souls may whisper or suggest to them as long as they do not act (on it) or speak."[3]

In the commentary of the above Hadith the scholars have stated that any unprovoked or unintentional thoughts of sins are forgiven and the person will not be held accountable for them provided the person does not dwell on those thoughts.[4]

From this, we can conclude that to bring such thoughts voluntarily and to follow it up with the action is haram and needs to be abandoned immediately.
