Question

Is it permissible to cremate dead animals?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It is preferable to bury a dead animal. When Prophet Adam’s (may peace and blessings be upon him) son was killed by his brother, Allah sent two crows, one of whom killed the other and then buried him.[1]

However, if there is a specific reason which necessitates burning the dead animal such as if the animal has a contagious disease that could spread if the animal is buried then it may be burnt.
