Dictionaries for the Holy Quran

CategoriesQur'an [167]

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh. Please tell me in which kitaab I may get all the lugwi tahqeeqaat of the Quraan directly i.e. the wahid/jama for the noun and the baabs for the fa’il instead of having to check one by one in the dictionary.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

In order to do ‘Lughwi Tahqeeq’ of the words of the Quran, or any Arabic literature for that matter, there is a set of basic principles one has to adhere to. If you can learn those principles, finding out the ‘wahid’ (singular) or ‘Jama’ (plural) of any word will become much simpler. This will also save you the trouble of having to look it up in a dictionary every so often. My personal recommendation would be the book ‘Arabic Tutor’ which is a four part series in English aimed at beginners’ level.

Aside from that, Arabic ‘Safwatul Masaadir’ is also an excellent book containing the classic collection of verb conjugation tables, which if you can memorise, will be very helpful and effective In-Sha-Allah.

Apart from that I have listed some other Lughaat books below which may also help you.

1. Misbaah al-Lughaat

2. Lisaan al-Quran

3. Lughaat al-Quran

4. Qaamoos al-Quran

5. Al-Qaamoos al-Muheet
