Question:

Is writing fanfictions Haram?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Answer:

It is permissible to write stories as long as the themes and principles conform to the Islamic teachings and do not promote things like vulgarity and such. To promote themes like integrity, honesty, faithfulness, patience and kindness in the form of a story can be good things and a means for people to reassess their decisions in life.
