Question

My father has a medicine shop some of the few things are Haram because of the pork in it. Do I have to separate the haram and halal part? Or is it permissible for me to use that haram money?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It is not permissible to sell products that are unlawful to consume according to Shariʿah. It will be considered as assisting someone in committing the sin of making eat Haram products.

Allah ﷻ says, “Help one another in righteousness and piety, but help you not one another in sin and transgression.” (Surah Mā’idah v.2)

Sayyiduna Jabir ibn Abd Allah (رضي الله عنه) narrates that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in the year of the Conquest of Mecca (fath al-Makka), saying, “Verily, Allah and His Messenger have prohibited the sale of alcohol, dead animals, swine and idols.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, 2121)

As for the money derived so far from this sale, it shall be given away in charity with no intention of rewards rather to only get rid of unlawful money.
