Question:

So its been nearly over a week since I’ve done my ghusl after my period had finished, and I was praying fajr today and all of a sudden I had this doubt that I didn’t wash my hands, fingers and arms up to my elbows when it came to washing my arms in wudu when doing my ghusl. I am sure I did but at the same time I am not sure.

So does this mean I need to repeat the ghusl?

I did however make the intention to purify myself from major impurities and I did make sure all the water had gone all over my body. But I am worried my ghusl is not accepted as I think I may have not washed my right arm properly during the wudu stage in my ghusl. Would my prayers that came after this ghusl all be invalid too?

I am pretty sure my hands were wet when I washed my right arm as I did check to see how the water would flow after I finished praying fajr.

This is really getting to me, if you could please help me that’d be great.

Answer:

It is important to observe the sunnah act in ghusl so a person is attentive and focused. However one should not entertain any whisper of shaitan.

Shaitan will put doubts in a person’s mind that part of a limb was not washed or was left dry. So tell yourself that the act was valid despite the evil whispering.

This will be difficult in the beginning but afterwards such doubts will not come. The principle also is that anything doubtful cannot break something which is certain.

When making ghusl, whilst washing the whole body, the hands will definitely be washed. When observing the sunnah and making wudhu in ghusl, if the handsare left out, the ghusl will be valid

Therefore your ghusl will be taken as valid and will ignore the doubt and no attention will be paid to it.
