A Revert Wife Visiting Her Family Who Keep Dogs

Question:  

 

Aslamalakum mufti sahib my question is my husband relative come to visit our house staying our house his wife is English they keep dogs in their working place her wife touch the dogs when she visit I seen her when she went with us for shopping they use our stuff ironing board beds blanket and pillows and previous many relative came as my mother in law pass away don’t no which stuff they use  I don’t no what shall I do for blanket pillow all that stuff I don’t use but I keep that for spare probably 10 blankets and pillows and quilts and myself I am very ill plz guide me what shall I do.

Answer:

 

Firstly we must understand that keeping a dog is forbidden in islam unless under specific situations like hunting or security.

 

The saliva of a dog is najis (impure) that has to be washed out and rinsed thoroughly 3 times. After every wash it should be rung (squeezed) to ones full strength. This will suffice. There is no need for it to be washed with mud etc.

 

A dog merely touching you or your clothing does not make the affected area impure. Yes, if the dog’s saliva or sweat latches onto you, the soiled area will be impure and it will be necessary to wash this part of the clothing.

 

As for the question the mere touching the skin or hair of the dog won’t make you impure and your stuff impure rather the sweat and saliva of the dog will make it impure.

 

If there is no apparent trace of the impurity, there will be no need to wash it. If you feel by them touching it and using it there may be some impurity coming to the items, then to be at ease, you can washed it

 

Make sure after they touch the dog or they got saliva on them, they should change their clothing and wash their hands properly.

وأما السؤر المختلف في طهارته ونجاسته فهو سؤر الخنزير والكلب وسائر سباع الوحش، فإنه نجس عند عامة العلماء

بدائع الصنائع في ترتيب الشرائع (1/ 64)

 

وَيُغْسَلُ الْإِنَاءُ مِنْ وُلُوغِهِ سَبْعًا تَعَبُّدًا، وَلَنَا قَوْلُهُ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ «إذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي إنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيُرِقْهُ ثُمَّ لِيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ» وَالْأَمْرُ بِالْإِرَاقَةِ دَلِيلُ التَّنَجُّسِ، وَأَقْوَى مِنْهُ قَوْلُهُ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ «طُهُورُ إنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ إذَا وَلَغَ فِيهِ الْكَلْبُ أَنْ يَغْسِلَهُ سَبْعًا» فَهَذَا يُفِيدُ النَّجَاسَةَ؛

وأمّا طَرِيقُ التَّطْهِيرِ بِالغَسْلِ فَلا خِلافَ فِي أنَّ النَّجِسَ يَطْهُرُ بِالغَسْلِ فِي الماءِ الجارِي، وكَذا يَطْهُرُ بِالغَسْلِ بِصَبِّ الماءِ عَلَيْهِ، واخْتُلِفَ فِي أنَّهُ هَلْ يَطْهُرُ بِالغَسْلِ فِي الأوانِي، بِأنْ غَسَلَ الثَّوْبَ النَّجَسَ أوْ البَدَنَ النَّجَسَ فِي ثَلاثِ إجّاناتٍ؟ قالَ أبُو حَنِيفَةَ ومُحَمَّدٌ: يَطْهُرُ، حَتّى يَخْرُجَ مِن الإجّانَةِ الثّالِثَةِ طاهِرًا.

قوله ( ولا الثواب بانتفاضه ) وما في الوالوالجية وغيرها إذا خرج الكلب من الماء وانتفض فأصاب ثوب إنسان أفسده لا لو أصابه ماء المطر لأن المبتل في الأول جلده وهو نجس وفي الثاني شعره وهو طاهر ا هـ فهو على القول بنجاسة عينه كما في البحر ويأتي تمامه قريبا قوله ( ولا بعضه ) أي عض الكلب الثوب قوله ( ما لم ير ريقه ) فالمعتبر رؤية البلة وهو المختار نهر عن الصيرفية وعلامتها ابتلال يده بأخذه وقيل لو عض في الرضا نجسه لأنه يأخذ بشفته الرطبة لا في الغضب لأخذه بأسنانه
