Are Zaidi Shia or Sunni?

 

 

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

 

Answer:

 

Zaidis (also known as the fivers) are a strand of Shiaism.1 They claim to be the followers of Zayd Ibn Ali Ibn Husayn R.A Ibn Ali R.A.2 Though their wrong beliefs fall within the realm of Shiaism, they are not as vulgar towards the noble companions and in Fiqh they are similar to Hanafis,
