Question:

Can one solely fast on the day of Jumu’ah?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

 (وكره إفراد يوم الجمعة) إلا أن يضم إليه يوما قبله أو بعده كما في الحديث

In the Hanafi Madhab, one can solely fast on the day of Jumu’ah. The other Imams say if one wants to fast on Friday then he must combine it with the day before or the day after.
