And can we continue our work if we are doing something like washing utensils while adhan and repeating adhan as well?

Answer:

In The Name Of Allah, The Most-Merciful, The Most Kind

Responding to the adhān is considered mustaḥab, i.e. it is desired but not absolutely necessary. While one may carry on other work such as washing utensils, it would be best to stop other activities and focus solely on listening and responding to the adhān (al-Fatāwā al-Hindiyyah, 1/64).
