Question

If someone has a card for example with their name Abdullah on it but in Arabic, would it suffice to simply cross out/line over the Allah (SWT) part until it’s indiscernible and then get rid of that card or paper.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

The intention of writing the name is considered because all matters are judged by their intended purposes.[1]

Due to the intention not being to actually write the name of Allah (s.w.t.) but to write the name of a human being, then crossing out the part with the name “Allah” is indeed a great sign of care and will suffice.
