Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

Does impurity travel from something that is damp for example a bed sheet that has a wet area that contains water and najaasa or just najasa that is damp to the point where if, was to squeeze it no drops of water would come out.

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh

Imam Quduri explains “Cleaning off impurity…is to wash it until it is believed by the washer to be pure.” [Vol 1, P 21] Wash the impure sheet with water and keep squeezing the water out until it is believed that the impurity has left. This will vary depending on how many impurities was absorbed, what type of fabric the sheet is made of, etc. Use your best judgment, and then consider it to be pure.
