Does taking off Ihram without Umrah necessitate Dam?

Taking off the Ihraam, with the intention of exiting the state of Ihraam, will demand that a dam be offered by the individual.[1]

Keep in mind that removing the Izaar/Ridaa for necessities like using the toilet is not considered as exiting the state of Ihraam. The above ruling refers to a person who entered into a valid Ihraam from any of the Meeqaat but could not complete the rituals of Umrah due to being prevented by severe illness, a threat from an enemy, being arrested, an injury of a broken limb or other such valid reasons.[2]

The method of exiting Ihraam is slaughtering the animal with the intention of exiting Ihraam, then shaving or cutting the hair and changing of the garments.[3]
