Flowing pus

CategoriesTaharah [479]
I would just like to ask for your advice on the fact that if just before congregational prayer one performs wudhu, and
during wudhu for example a spot on the face bursts, but he doesnt touch the spot with a towel when drying the face,
what should he do? Is his wudhu intact despite the fact that pus has come out onto the skin or should he wait till the
spot stops leaking and then perform wudhu again and then pray individually?

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

If anything impure such as blood or pus flows from a wound, or it comes out with enough force to flow but was prevented from flowing because it was wiped or absorbed by a bandage, then wudhu will break. Flowing in the aforementioned ruling means to flow beyond its point of exit from a wound.

Blood that appears on the body surface without it exiting will not break the wudhu. (Ahsanul Fatawa p.28 v.2 & Raddul Muhtar p.260 v.1)

With regards to your question, as the pus is flowing you should wait until it stops, do your wudhu and pray your salah individually.
