Question:

If a woman notices discoloration i.e. a pinkish colour, on the tissue, after using the bathroom but she is unsure if this is blood in her urine (haematuria) or if she has to regard it as haidh when 15 days have passed from her last menstruation, she also had a normal discharge just before using the bathroom so she could not tell after using the bathroom after using the tissue if the discharge was mixed with blood or not, or if it was only the urine on the tissue she has noticed darker urine before, especially during fasting due to not drinking water and she does suffer from kidney infections often.

But also whenever her haidh begins every month, she notices a light pinkish colour on the tissue and a little while later red blood will begin. However this pinkish colour, seemed to be darker than the colour she notices when haidh begins. This occurred at Asr time, before this occurred she had a normal discharge, as well as after at Maghrib & Eshaa, normal discharge, and no sign of red blood like menstruation afterwards.

Due to not noticing any bleeding after this, she feels most probably that this was haematuria, but she is unsure, so what should she do? What will this bleeding be regarded as?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

If the bleeding does not return before the end of the mustahab time of the next salah, then she will pray, and no ghusl is required.

If the spotting or discoloration returns within or even after 72 hours (3 days and 3 nights) and remains under 10 days and 10 nights (240 hours), then reference will need to be made to your previous established habits to determine if these days are considered haidh or not.[1]
