Question:

Me and my wife have not had a child yet and are struggling to conceive due to some medical conditions.

We have been advised that an Aalim can create a taweez to tie around my wife’s stomach/waist area to help.

We have been told to pray salaatul hajaat and have full faith in the Almighty. But, to also wear the taweez and to not remove it.

Is this permissible?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

The taweez (amulet) itself is not the thing which gives you the child. It is all from Allah. All goodness and blessing comes from Allah alone(3). The taweez can be worn at any time except on two occasions, when entering the toilet and engaging in any form of intimacy/ intercourse.

Someone who is proficient in the field and the science of taweez should be approached for the creating of the taweez. It is necessary that the verses of the Quran and special portions are contained inside the taweez, and nothing else which attests to the magnifying of any other deity or person. If any other person, deity or object is contained in there and their praise is mentioned, this would be classified as shirk and ascribing partners to Allah (Allah protect us all from this!).

The taweez has to be removed at time of intercourse and when going to the toilet. It is permissible to wear at all other times.
