Question:

I suffer from the issue of hair fall from head and legs with hair roots. The number of hairs that fall increases with time. I wore clothes for around 8 hours and then checked for hair and there were around 50 hairs (most were small with a like around 5-7 large). These hairs must also touch my legs. I knew this for around 3 weeks but have not looked for a cure. Before this, I knew about it but didn’t think there was this much hair fall. I had OCD and still have some aspects of it. Are my salah’s valid?

Also, If a hair fall on my clothes from my head, does the impurity transfer? What to do to pray salah?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

In Islam, the validity of prayers (salah) depends on the cleanliness and purity of the body and clothes. Hair is considered pure if it is not soiled by any impurity-like urine or faeces. Hair naturally sheds, and this shedding does not affect the purity of your body or clothes unless the hair is soiled by najasa (impurity).

Natural hair fall, whether from the head or body, does not make your clothes or body impure unless the hair itself is soiled. Unless there is clear evidence of impurity (like blood or faeces), you don’t need to worry about the hair that falls from your head or legs.

Therefore, hair fall on its own does not invalidate your salah or transfer impurity to your clothes unless it is associated with something impure. Your prayers are valid if you maintain the basic requirements of cleanliness, such as wudu. It is important to avoid excessive concern, especially if you have OCD, as it can lead to unnecessary distress and might interfere with your salah. It is always a good to seek balance, as Islam encourages ease and simplicity in religious matters.
