Question:

I need guidance about my work.

I’m working for Amazon and uber as a delivery driver food and parcel etc. and before I started I fill the form that I’m not delivering any alcohol product but now   I have watched so many videos of well-known scholars of almost all the madhab’s that there are some issues of delivering non-halal food as well and become so confused as some say it’s totally permissible and some say it’s not permissible some says it’s only permissible if u take deliveries only from halal restaurants and places etc. and some say they have more permissible ingredients and less impermissible so u think its income is from a halal source of the products they use and some says your job is just carrying so there’s no harm for that u getting paid only for transferring I even read that u cannot assist haram food to encourage peoples to eat haram food etc. Please guide me on what is our madhab’s fatwa if u have any or please guide me with any Quran hadith or sahih riwayat quote, please.

Answer:

Working as a delivery driver for companies like Amazon and Uber is permissible irrespective of what is being delivered.

Imam Zaylaee explains that the reason Imam Abu Ḥanifah permits the earnings from such transport or delivery is that it cannot be considered a sin nor the means to sin. A sin can only come into existence by the deliberate action of a person to sin, which is not found in the mere act of delivery or transport.1
