Question:
Someone’s non Muslim colleague passed away, now he is collecting money for his دفن is this allowed?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
While he may collect money for the burial of the non-Muslim [1], he may not attend, participate in or contribute towards any religious aspects of the funeral process [2].
Only Allah ﷻ knows best.

Surah Al-Ma’idah 2
وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُم مَّاتَ أَبَدًا وَلَا تَقُمْ عَلَىٰ قَبْرِهِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ
Surah At-Taubah 84
