Maulana i am constantly having doubts about my imaan, every time in salah i’m getting thoughts that i’m praying for this person and not for Allah, i’m not able to cry in my duas

I don’t feel i’m a good muslim

If i watch a video about islam or there’s a story from the quraan I’m constantly questioning and wondering why it had happened this why and how can it be true

How can i become closer to Allah SWT

I want to die as a muslim

I don’t want to go to jahannum

How do i change

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

“And they planned, but Allāh planned. And Allāh is the best of planners.” Surah Āli ‘Imrān (3:54) [1]

A conflict of deen occurs due to a lack of knowledge regarding both Islam and the religion in question, as well as working off assumptions on religion as a whole. Unfortunately, as you have not stated the cause of your confusion or conflict in understanding, it makes fully addressing your question difficult. I advise you to discuss any issues you are facing with an Islamic scholar knowledgeable in comparative religion or an Islamic counsellor. Try to get into contact with those who have reverted to Islam from the beliefs you are inclined towards or those involved in dawah, as well as seek out reliable resources and platforms where your conflict in understanding can be addressed. Also seek Islamic classes, courses and lectures where you can learn more about Islam and the stories of the Qur’an, in order to help your understanding of events and why they took place.

“And if there comes to you from Shaytan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allāh. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.” Surah Fussilat (41:36) [2]

Some people from amongst the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ came to him and said: “Verily we perceive in our minds that which every one of us considers it too grave to express.” He ﷺ said: “Do you really perceive it?” They said: “Yes.” Upon this he remarked: “That is the faith manifest.” (Muslim) [3]
