Question

I’m a convert. Due to serious marriage issues, I asked my husband for a divorce many times. Many times he told me: “inshallah I will divorce you” or  “go and divorce yourself” for the second one I answered “ok” or “ok, I will”. I want to know if we are still married.

Kindly note that before that my husband uttered one talaq ” enti talaq” but he took me back before iddah was over.

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

Answer

Your husband’s utterance of “inshaaAllah I will divorce you” takes no effect because it is in the future tense. Also his utterance of “go and divorce yourself” and your subsequent reply does not constitute a divorce. (Bahishti Zewar, Chapter of Talaaq).
