Question:

Does one have to pay zakat on mobile phone credit? Does one have to pay zakat on any credit on an Oyster card?

 Answer:

For the benefit of the readers, Oyster Card is a plastic smartcard which you can use instead of paper tickets. It is like a pay as you go credit which allows you travel on busses, trams and trains without the need of buying a separate ticket for each.

Zakat is not obligatory on mobile phone credits and on oyster cards as they would come under necessities (Dururete Asliyaah).
