Question:
Assalamualaikum
Is it possible that due to Wahhabism and fake scholars a lot of Hadith classified as Sahih are actually fake?
A lot of religious narrations are misinterpreted or wrongly translated?? Like sheikh al Albani. Please elaborate.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Answer:
It would be highly unlikely that those scholars would be able to fabricate the authenticity of hadith to that level, seeing as they would generally quote scholars of the past regarding many aspects of the authenticity.
The faults made by them were restricting Islam to only authentic narrations claiming that ALL other narrations were wrong/fabricated, which was a grave mistake.
There is, however, a common thread amongst many people in recent times who rely on translations which do not convey a broad meaning of the ahadith, that again, restrict the overall meaning and purpose of those ahadith causing an uproar within the community.
Misinterpretation is a result of such translations. Bear in mind there are valuable translations that the general public should use and if they want further elaboration they should consult a trustworthy scholar on such occasions.
And Allah SWT alone knows best.
