Question:
1. During fasting in Ramadan, what is the ruling on breaking fast when the menstrual cycle begins? If the menstrual cycle begins after Dhuhr or Asr, do I break my fast when I notice blood or finish fast until Maghrib?
Second question
When praying Asr/dhuhr behind Imam, when Imam is not reciting Quran aloud, do people behind Imam recite Quran themselves?

Answer 1
If a woman begins her monthly menstruation while fasting, the fast will automatically break. You don't have to eat something to break it. It will be permissible for her to eat and drink for the rest of the day. Likewise, she can eat and drink during the days of her menses discreetly and not publicly.
However, if a woman becomes pure from her menses during the day in Ramadhan, then she must abstain from eating and drinking. The day she stopped bleeding would not be counted as a fast, hence, she would be required to perform qadha after. (Fatawa Hindiyyah p.214 v.1 & Ahsanul Fatawa p.438 v.4)
