Question:
I pray the 4 rakaats of Sunnah before Zuhr with two tasleems. I mean I pray first 2 rakaats then sit and read complete tashahud then salam. After that pray another 2 rakaat the sit read complete tashahud and salaam. Is this correct?

Answer:
According to the Hanafi jurists, the Sunnah Mu’akkadah before Duhr is four Rak’ats with one Salam.1 If it is terminated after two Rak’ats, it will not be regarded as Sunnah and four Rak’ats will have to be repeated after the Fardh Salaah.2 If the Jamaa’ah salah starts while one is performing the four Rak’ats Sunnah before Duhr, it is best to complete the four Rak’ats before joining the Jamaa’ah. 3
